The countries of Grenada, Saint Vincent, Saint Lucia, Martinique and Dominica are considered the Windward Islands of the Caribbean. Within these island countries are countless islands where we can drop anchor and swim or end the day watching the sunset and spend the night in a quiet bay.
We are based in St George’s, Grenada we explore the Windward Island sailing North, island hopping to Carriacou, Tobago Cays, Petit St Vincent, Petit Martinique, Union Island, Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Canouan, Mystique, Bequia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, St Lucia plus plenty of other spectacular islands speckled along the way. Our voyage is a loop from Grenada to the postcard perfect Tobogo Cays and back again. Or we can provide one way trips Grenada to St. Lucia.
Grenada
Grenada “Spice Island” is a beautiful tropical island with everything that you want: awesome stretches of beach, warm waters, lush jungle, great restaurants, friendly people, and several organic chocolate factories! We recommend a few days before or after your sailing vacation to take in all that it offers.
You begin your trip in Port Louis Marina and Resort. Our beautiful and well-appointed home base offers swimming pool, a quaint sushi restaurant, and grill and bar, and marina, all in a soothing, tropical location. After a light breakfast in the restaurant and our safety briefing, we will start to the day heading north. Depending on our timing and the winds, we may stop at Isle de Ronde for a swim and lunch before continuing to Carriacou or Union Island.
Don’t worry. We aren’t skipping the famous Grenada underwater sculpture park at Moliniere Point. We will visit on the return trip. The sculptures have been placed here as artificial reefs. The coral attaches to the structures, attracting plenty of fish. An underwater camera is a must here!

Carriacou
Carriacou is a master of hidden gems with surprises and characters at every turn. Much quieter than its sister island, Grenada, you will be amuses and entertained or choose to hang out on an entirely uninhabited beach. Home to only 8,000 people but 100 rum shops, this island is never to be underestimated. As is proven during the Carriacou Carnival encompasses wonderfully expressive street dances, soca, fancy mas bands, calypso, the Jab Jab and even the authentic Shakespeare Mas. The diving here is pretty epic as the island is trimmed with cays. We are partnered with Lumba Dive if you wish to have a day of diving.
Sandy Island
Sandy Island is a tiny spit of land, dappled with a few palm trees, nestled in a bay of Carriacou. We will take a mooring ball adjacent to the tiny island in private, and enjoy the beautiful beach and excellent snorkeling. The alternative is to over-night around the corner at Tyrell Bay, and enjoy sunset rum punch and dinner at the Tipsy Turtle in Tyrell Bay. We may need to enter Tyrell Bay for immigration checkout. On our way back to Grenada the beautiful Anse La Roche beach makes for a nice lunch n linger – hang out on the gorgeous beach, swim, snorkel or hike. Either coming or going, we usually stop here.

Union Island
Clifton Harbour on the east side Union Island is where we can check into the country of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. If kite surfing action is what you want, there are a couple schools here.
A contrast to the lively Clifton Harbour is Chatham Bay on the other side of the island. The only action on this side is a few sleepy Beach BBQ huts and a very low key resort. Options galore here – there’s lots of room and no pressure – swim ashore for a lovely cocktail and bbq on the beach or dine on the boat in full display of the setting sun. Also to be seen here are lots of sea creatures.
Mayreau
Salt Whistle Bay is the stuff of perfect postcards! This dreamy little anchorage would be the perfect do nothing spot if there wasn’t for such fun things to explore. Saline bay is another pretty place with a gorgeous beach, great snorkeling and things to explore ashore.
If you wish to hike up the hill to the church, there is a spectacular view of the Tobago Cays.

Tobago Cays Marine Park and Turtle Sanctuary
Tobago Cay National Park is the pristine set of classically Caribbean tiny islands. Perfect translucent, turquoise water ringed by lively reefs. We pick up a mooring ball inside the horseshoe reef, which nearly encircles the four main cays. Snorkel among the turtles or hike the tiny island to discover iguanas. Tonight we will be enjoying sunset and dinner aboard the yacht. Two nights in this paradise is a must. First night we will dine with the setting sun on board and the second night join the fun and sumptuous beach BBQ – fresh lobster or fish cooked over hot coals. After two nights in Tobago Cays, this is our turn around point to head south again. Don’t despair! You won’t see the same thing twice. There are other islands to visit on the return trip.
Petit St Vincent
Petit St Vincent Island is an exclusive resort on a Private island is open to yachties for dinner at either one of two fabulous restaurants – ideally it will be Friday so we can dance to the live band at the restaurant on the beach! A pleasant, well protected anchoring spot with lovely vistas, step on shore to socialize and enjoy five star fun. The resort spa will also take appointments.
Next to PSV is Mopion Island. It is teeny, tiny island, protected by the surrounding coral reefs, with a single structure on it – a palm leaf umbrella. We will anchor just outside the reefs and take our dingy onto the island for some fabulous snorkeling in the protected, shallow waters.

Mystique
After leaving Tobago Cays we have the choice to go the posh island of Mystique known for its celebrity guests and royalty. We can moor in Britannia Bay and for a fee you can take a tour of the island.
Bequia
For an extended trip, we continue north. Slipping into Admiralty Bay of Bequia, we can choose to anchor close to the action in town or in a more secluded spot to enjoy a swim and the beautiful Princess Margaret Beach. Jacks Bar on the beach offers great food and one of the best places to sip a cocktail while the sun is setting. Enjoy dinner ashore in one of many restaurants. This is a fun place for us to cruise thru the fruit and vegetable markets and other curious shops like the local library and book shop. We definitely recommend excursions here to see the island and visit the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary. This is also a great place to spend two nights if you wish to dive. The local dive shop will come to the boat to pick you up.

St. Lucia
Approaching St. Lucia the two prominent Pitons become more and more impressive until finally they are soaring above your head. It seems anything is possible in St Lucia. Mud bath for rejuvenation, spas, world class resorts, Admiral Barrington’s historical hiding place in Marigot Bay.
Fodor’s Travel Guide rightfully says about Marigot Bay, “This is one of the prettiest natural harbors in the Caribbean. In 1778, British admiral Samuel Barrington sailed into this secluded bay-within-a-bay and, the story goes, covered his ships with palm fronds to hide them from the French. Today this small community is a favorite anchorage for boaters and a peaceful destination for landlubbers, with a luxury resort, several small inns and restaurants, and a marina village with a snack shop, grocery store, bakery, and boutiques.”
